HIS–tory In The Making!

NOT THE OSCARS! CELEBRATING THE OPENING OF TYLER PERRY STUDIOS—HIS-tory in the making!!

Stacy King-Chaney/ Gospel Editor

It’s HIS—tory in the making! Who’s story is making history. None other than Tyler Perry. Tyler Perry has a story to tell and he is making history living it. Tyler Perry is making history by living his story for everyone to see. No, he is not bragging. He is not boasting. Tyler Perry has no time to do either, as he works diligently providing opportunities for others to leave their footprint and handprint on this journey, we call life. Tyler Perry has dedicated his life to moving forward with clarity on what he sees in the rearview mirror of his life. As he moves forward in life, Tyler Perry can clearly see the things behind him. Having view of the hills and valleys, as well as the overwhelming floods and ground-swell of his life, allows him to appreciate his past and keep moving toward his future. Tyler’s constant moving forward is providing a legacy for his son and access for others to step out on faith and pursue the desires of their heart. Allowing everyone to realize that fear paralyzes and faith propels. The evidence of such is seen in his extensive library of movies and television shows that have been written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry. It is seen in the recent acknowledge by the Industry by the Tyler Perry Star on the Walk of Fame. It is further evident by the Opening and grand celebration of the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, GA.

The Tyler Perry Studios is the LARGEST Studio in the Industry. It has no rival. It need not compete. It is noted as being larger than Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros. combined. However, it is not about being the largest studio in the industry. It is about providing the largest opportunity for others to pursue their work within in the industry. It is about unlocking doors, so that no one is ignored. Tyler Perry knows about being ignored in the industry. He openly shared his experience of being ignored by Hollywood with Gayle King of CBS This Morning. Although he was ignored, it is clear that Tyler Perry will not be forgotten. He has made a mark that will be preserved through the course of history. Knowing how much of a mark and legacy that he is leaving, Tyler has insured that those, who came before him will be remembered. He dedicated his 12 Sound Stages to living legacies and to those who have passed on whose life left us a legacy. Some of those persons include, Whoopi Goldberg, Hallie Berry, Diane Carol, Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee, Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee and Denzel Washington. Having the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and marking it with such Giants in the industry serves as a great monument to those who remember the history of the land upon which Tyler has built his studio. The land that now houses the Tyler Perry Studios was once a Confederate army base. Enough said. I will leave it right there.
