After getting settled in Toronto it was time to hit the streets and find a few great places to dine and visit. I recognized a large Asian population in Toronto which gave me the feel of Chinatown in New York City but instead it was the entire city of Toronto. I walked by and stop in to say Hi at several eating establishments. Some may ask.. Why? I’m a Foodie for good food that comes with great service. Several vegan, vegetarian & seafood restaurants to choose from. I gladly request a menu and said “I’ll be black I mean back” I went to visit a black owned store that sells natural products. I purchased some shea butter and inquired about places to go and things poets do so she kindly referred me to “Poetry Jazz Cafe” located at 224 Augusta Avenue Kensington MKT, Toronto After dining at “Kings Cafe” a vegetarian restaurant a few doors down was Poetry Jazz Cafe I was eager to go inside and look around. I was so intrigued with the decor. I had to inquire about their open mic afterall the place is call “Poet Jazz Cafe” After conversing with the bartender regarding open mic night he quickly pointed out the Sax player whom I introduced myself to and he invited me to join him and his band Game Set Trap on stage with them to perform. It was a epic experience welcomed with opened arms I rocked out wet the band, meet the owner and looking forward to more performances at Poet Jazz Cafe. The following night my friend Popkris and i signed up to perform at a different location not far from Poet Jazz Cafe called “The Boat”. When we walked in Popkris quickly put together a live band and we performed if I wasn’t there to witness it I wouldn’t believe it myself. When artist unite the world stops for a moment to take a deep breath in and breathe easy. It’s a inner being a spirit that takes over when your croas paths with like minded artists. I was humbled, blessed and thankful to experience it all. Hope you enjoy the videos Until next time Toronto Canada thank you.
