So, I was invited to a birthday dinner at, The Cowfish. I raised my brow at the name. I had never heard of the place so I was apprehensive, yet eager to try something different. Generally, I’m a picky eater. For instance, I open and inspect my sandwiches before taking a bite, I toss through my salad before pouring the salad dressing on and I even take the lid off my drink cup to peek inside.
Once arriving at The Cowfish, I noticed it was uniquely designed on the outside, which was a plus. Customers were sitting outside socializing, laughing and eating like they were having a good time. That was another plus. As my friends and I entered the building, I felt a welcoming aura. That’s important to me. We had a large party at our table, so we had 3 waitresses. Prior to my search through the menu, a waitress introduced herself to us and asked if it was our first visit to The Cowfish. Of course, I said yes. The waitress proceeded to explain how we could custom make our orders. Sounded good to me. She gave us a few minutes to decide what we wanted to order. The menu had a variety of dishes, and I wanted a taste of everything! However, realty kicked in and I decided to chill. I didn’t want to put back on the few pounds that I had lost recently. So, I decided on just one dish, a juicy turkey burger and French fries.
While waiting on our food to arrive, I decided to walk around and explore. It sort of reminded me of a museum how the place was decorated. The pictures hanging on the wall were really interesting. I admired the huge aquarium situated in the middle of the restaurant floor. I stopped to look at the pretty colorful fish as they swam by. I spotted Zebra fish, and another type of unusual looking yellow fish. A waitress was passing by me and I caught her attention. I pointed to the unusual looking creature and of course I asked her what the name of the fish was. You wouldn’t believe her response. “That’s a cowfish” she said confidently. Again, I raised my brow at the name. I flashed a smile and thanked the waitress for answering my question. Am I the only one that had never heard of a fish by that name? I felt a little embarrassed. Anyway, I watched how the little fella swam back and forth for a couple minutes before I took my seat.
Our food was now being served. I glanced at each of the plates as the waitresses placed them on the table. Everything looked appetizing. Including the sushi, and I don’t eat sushi. My friends seemed to be pleased with their meals. I certainly was. I would definitely visit The Cowfish again.
