As I don’t have any children of my own, my dear friends and extended family made me the godparent of theirs. I have a very special and beautiful God daughter who just turned six. I remember not seeing her for 2 years and I drove down to surprise her. She was shocked, put her hands over her face, and jumped in my arms in sheer joy that God daddy was there. We hung out, and she was a sweetheart at the movies watching The Jungle Book. She was also merciful in my wallet at the mall when I took her shopping. She has an amazing father and she climbed onto me as if I was an extension of him. If something happened to her as did these young girls I would be devastated. She is not my flesh and blood and I could not imagine a parent going through this.
In my ignorance, human trafficking has been an issue I was thinking as a very tragic and isolated problem in my mind. As I watch the national news, and the local news, this is not something I can take lightly anymore. You would think in the media spectrum that thrives on revenue from carnage and carnality we would see more coverage. I found this article that addressed the same thing. CBN Human Trafficking.
We have to really get more education in our schools and churches for our kids. These are perilous times, and our kids face the unimaginable. It is up to us to expand our own imagination to combat this evil.
