Mary J Blige shows off her strength with the release of her new album titled “Strength of A Woman”
The year of 2016 proved to be a pretty rough road for this pop star, in 2017 Blige filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, Kendu Issacs. Mr. Issacs also worked as Bliges Manager. She fired him from that job too.
Ever since it was revealed that Issacs was supposedly spending money on traveling with his side-chick instead of business-related matters (as Blige’s manager), the public began scratching their heads.
Blige stated that she had to make some changes to her album after it was almost complete, because her mood had changed. She stated that this album was an emotional rollercoaster. Mary J Blige fans know that she always wears her heart on her sleeve. She sings about what she is feeling.
“That’s why I suffered through it. That’s why I was humiliated through the whole thing because I really wanted it to work and it just didn’t.”
While on the radio in Atlanta, Blige stated,“I remember when I thought I found the love of my life and I told everybody on my ‘Be Without You’ album this is really messed up. I didn’t wanna be here. I thought I was gonna be in that situation for the rest of my life,” she explained. “That’s why I suffered through it. That’s why I was humiliated through the whole thing because I really wanted it to work and it just didn’t.”
Mary J. Blige also revealed that she’s going through a mostly dark time right now and says her album represents that, no matter the situation, she can persevere.
As Mary J has filed for divorce from her husband, he wants spousal support. Her estranged husband requested support to the sum of $110,000 in monthly spousal support , $5000 a month for his parents, $4900 to take care of his children from a previous relationship, $1200 in food – oh, and $60,000 to pay the rent he owes on several properties – all finally added up to way too much for R&B superstar Mary J. Blige. Her album has been a reflection of her trials and she continues to command our ears as well as our attention.
