It’s been a while since my last post. I have been really busy traveling and learning new and exciting things! I am looking forward to sharing some of that with you, but first I want to get this post out there.
This is for all the kids in school who may be struggling a bit or being told that they cant ever achieve anything because of what they look like, their nationality or because school is a bit tough for them. Don’t’ let anyone discourage you. If you have a dream do your best, work hard then go for it.
I was one of those kids that never had the greatest grades in school, and had few friends, but I knew what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to work in tv, film or music. I shined when I had the opportunity to participate in any of those subjects. Unfortunately, teachers would tell me all the time that traditional education my not be for me and I should just learn a trade. I took it as them saying I was dumb. I wasn’t dumb, I was bored.(not to say that learning a trade is dumb) I too had to deal with racism and stereotypes. They thought I should be in construction or a landscaper because of my last name. That angered me, but it also pushed me to prove them wrong. As I write these words and I am proving them wrong, they might not know it, but I do. I am proud of where I am in my life right now. I have achieved so many things. My work is global! I do hope to someday go back to my high school and let those teachers know that I have made it, no thanks to them. Ha!
Ok, so I have been wanting to talk about that subject for a while now, and had to get it off of my chest be fore moving on to other content. Stay tuned for my experience I had attending this years Adobe Max Creative conference this past October. It was amazing. Peace!
