I’m back! I’ve been gone for a while working on some really cool stuff, and in the process I purchased some new camera gear! So for the longest time I have always wanted the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, and I finally got one. It shoots beautifully by the way, the 13 stops of dynamic range, the ability to shoot 2.5K raw is amazing, but it may not be the camera I really need for the types of videos I shoot. 🙁 I also recently got a new DJI Ronin – M and today I spent hours trying to get it to work with the BMCC, and I finally did! Works great, but man is it heavy with that camera! My arms were really burning.
Well today I decided that I may sell the camera and go back to the good old DSLR, and for budgets sake I am looking at the Panasonic GH4. The Panasonic has so many features that really appeal to me such as 4K and variable frame rates, even 96fps at 1080p for slow motion shots! What really appeals to me is that it is so much lighter than the BMCC. I’ll let you all know what I decide to do. Don’t be like me and jump the gun on purchasing camera gear without really thinking about what you’re really going to be using it for. I would like to see some of the things you shoot as well, and the types of gear you have or suggest so please hit me up on any of my social platforms here Facebook, Twitter, and of course my favorite of the all Instagram. @aspiretim
